SBPT #3: EMILY READS EVERYTHING'S FAVORITE AUTHORS!

THE SUMMER BLOGGER PROMO TOUR IS HOSTED BY THE BOOK BRATZ.
TODAY I'M DELIGHTED TO WELCOME EMILY FROM EMILY READS EVERYTHING, WHO WILL BE TALKING ABOUT HER TOP 10 FAVORITE AUTHORS!

Hi everyone! I’m Emily from Emily Reads Everything (www.emilyreadseverything.com) and I’m so excited to be here today.

This post was so hard for me to write. I had an incredibly difficult time choosing only 10 favorite authors. There are so many wonderful books and authors out there that it’s so tough to narrow it down. I thought about doing a true top ten list that goes from 10 to my number 1 favorite but that was way too daunting. So these are my top 10 favorites but in no particular order.

1. RACHEL CAINE (goodreads)
This author is famous for her Morganville Vampires series, but I have always preferred her Weather Wardens series. I read Weather Wardens first and I was immediately enthralled. More importantly though, Rachel Caine is so nice. She engages with her fans. I’ve had more than one conversation with her. She’s also real and isn’t afraid to geek about what she loves.

2. JIM BUTCHER(https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/10746.Jim_Butcher)
Jim Butcher creates the most detailed worlds in his stories. In his Harry Dresden series, he is able to write seemingly small details into his books and then 4 books later those small details become integral to the story. As I’m reading I love wondering what will become important in the future.

3.STEPHEN KING (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/3389.Stephen_King)
These are the scariest books you will ever read. I like being scared but I also love that the plots stick with me forever.

4. NEIL GAIMAN (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/1221698.Neil_Gaiman)
No explanation necessary. He’s Neil Gaiman. If you don’t know him, you absolutely must go read something by him immediately. Seriously, stop what you’re doing and go now.

5. TERRY PRATCHETT (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/1654.Terry_Pratchett)
These books are both funny and witty. His style of humor makes me think. His books can be a commentary, have a deeper meaning, or be a satire of something else so it’s fun to try to figure out what’s behind it.

6. PATRICIA BRIGGS (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/40563.Patricia_Briggs)
Patricia Briggs has two series, Mercy Thompson and a spin off, Alpha and Omega. I like Urban Fantasy a lot, as you can tell from some of my other choices. I like her version of Werewolves and Vampires and magic the best. Her choices really resonate with me.

7. NORA ROBERTS (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/625.Nora_Roberts)
I like romance and happy endings, especially if the books are as well written as Nora Roberts. It’s nice to know that in her books, everything always works out for the best.

8. MADELINE L’ENGLE (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/106.Madeleine_L_Engle)
A Wrinkle in Time changed my life. It was the first Sci Fi/Fantasy book I ever read and it opened my eyes to a new world of books and opportunities. I’ve probably read it more times than any other book. L’Engle was the first author who once I read her book, I wanted to read everything else she had ever read.

9. HAVEN KIMMEL (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/9464.Haven_Kimmel)
Haven Kimmel’s A Girl Called Zippy made me fall in love with nonfiction. I had always thought that I would never like nonfiction because it’s just not as fun or as interesting as fiction. I really thought all nonfiction would be boring. Haven Kimmel completely changed my mind. Her writing is hilarious!

10. DIANA PALMER (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/12692.Diana_Palmer)
Diana Palmer writes fun and well written romances too. I’ve already stated that I’m a real sucker for a happy ending. Plus there are cowboys.

I hope you enjoyed my picks. If you disagree or if you have decided to try a new author because of my choices I would love to hear about it. I owe a big thank you to Mia for allowing me to write this post.
